Trophy Husband is a bombastic Prog-Rock band from Boston, MA. With 4 fantastically musically diverse members (Donny DeFala - Guitar; Ben Heck - Drums; Dan “Chef” Zahal - Chapman Stick; Max Kozol - Bass Guitar), Trophy Husband creates the ultimate combination of crazy guitar riffage with absurdist humor. Formed in 2021 at Berklee College of Music, the quirky quartet quickly took hold of the scene, moving from humble shows hosted in practice rooms to the underground scene within only a few months. During this time, the band also released their first EP “What Would You Like For Dinner” (2022), which featured several other Berklee College of Music ensemble members to create a Snarky Puppy-esk sound. Today, Trophy Husband is stronger than ever, touring across the North East on multiple occasions, and currently working to create their second major release. However, unlike their food-based first release, we will see the ensemble branch out and discover what their humor truly is, while creating more intense through-composed songs.
Trophy Husband started during the fall of 2021 at Berklee college of music through a mutual love for metal, progressive rock, and funk. Each member brings a unique musical aesthetic to the band, helping the ensemble grow and become more accustomed to the mixing of each genre.
Starting out, Trophy Husband was just a few friends hanging out and covering songs that were both fun and technical (The Woven Web - Animals as Leaders, Caravan - Duke Ellington, Hell - Clowncore). These jam sessions grew into intimate 15-minute sets for their friends at Berklee College of Music, slowly evolving until the band moved into the Boston underground scene.
